![]() I was always hurt or bad, then when I felt really bad and questioned if I was a terrible person, I would try to be helpful, smart, and accomplished. Guess what I was a lot? This dynamic shaped me more than I realized in recent years. ![]() An only child for 8 years, and my mom had 3 children for years, and it felt like I was forgotten if I wasn’t helpful, hurt, or bad. I started from pretty humble beginnings in Gallatin, TN. Like most, I had my life planned out marriage, children, fur baby, and two vacations a year. The start of my journey is a familiar one I transitioned from the academic world of college to climbing the corporate ladder. My name is Charitta Roberts, though many know me simply as Ritta Roberts. I think my dad was pretty happy I picked that and not drums! Read More> Ritta Roberts Going in as a little 6-year-old, I was thinking drums or guitar, but I heard the person play Orange Blossom Special on the fiddle, and I knew that was the one I had to have. He took me to a music store where he had someone play every instrument in there. When I was little, my dad wanted to start a family porch band. Fast forward to today, where I am the trail coordinator this year. Since that program, I have been involved ever since. Through a club at the high school, I was launched into Terror On The Trails past internship program. I started with Terror On The Trail when I was a high school sophomore. At the very least, I always wanted a forum in which I could share all of my garden desires. I have always loved plants and flowers and wanted to become a Florist, but never knew if I really would or if I even wanted to be one in the traditional sense. There, I majored in Agricultural Sciences which afforded me the opportunity to not only learn a lot about Pre-Veterinary Medicine and conduct research but also exposed me to other disciplines such as Plant Science and Floral Design. Where do I begin? Well, I’ll start with the fact that I am a two-time graduate of Tennessee State University based right here in Nashville. Thank you for this opportunity to share my story and passion. I realized that this was a need I could fulfill. ![]() I loved the idea of renting out a soft play area for it, but the closest soft play rental company to us was an hour and a half away! From my mom’s influences of 70s classics to my dad’s love for 80s rock and 90s country. They also encouraged me to dig deeper into my love for singing. My parents both influenced my siblings and my love for music. My first concert was held in my living room at age five to my audience made up of my grandparents and parents, and the song I chose to perform was Islands in the Stream. Since I was young, I always loved music and anything related to music. Fast forward nearly a decade, and I’m still as enamored with the violin as ever. From the very beginning, I was captivated by the instrument’s beauty and the way it allowed me to express myself through music. I first picked up the violin in 5th grade, at the age of 10. ![]() My journey as Nashville’s only black female violinist has been a remarkable one, defined by my deep love for the violin and a passion for exploring various musical genres. Some of those gigs were with my father, who would front the band, and others, as I got older, were with local rock/American bands. As a pianist, I grew up accompanying lots of singers in church and on gigs around town. Grew up in Macon, GA (home of Littel Richard, Otis Redding, and Allman Bros). Born Jonathan Loyd, I got bit by that bug at 8 years old. I want my brand and my message to be a reminder to others that regardless of what they are going through, it is possible to overcome it and become a better version of themselves. I have experienced firsthand the impact that self-acceptance and self-love can have, particularly in the face of adversity. I’ve built a brand around promoting body positivity and personal growth as a single mom. Posting random TikToks turned into a passion and eventually a mission.
